Overview
"I give you ten days, starting today. I will show you all you need to see. It is up to you
"
Matt Thomson's life has become a bad joke. With Christmas just around the corner, he's lost his job, his car, his house, his wife and kids, and even the front door key to his buddy's attic room where he now sleeps. Matt is a hair's breadth from a leap off a high bridge into the welcome oblivion of icy waters. But a seemingly random encounter with a coffee shop Goddess instead dumps Matt into the lap of a very unlikely guru.
Meet Joey Murphy: ex-Merchant Marine, entrepreneur, teacher, wild man. His idea of a good time is playing Blind Man's baseball on the edge of a cliff. Joey takes Matt on the roller-coaster ride of his life, a ten day adventure dodging cop cars, debunking Mother Divine, visiting paradise artfully disguised as Taco Bell, and trading intimate secrets with total strangers.
Matt is reluctantly forced to shed old ideas like so many layers of skin, and he comes to love and trust his nemesis in the process. Joey does succeed in showing Matt most of what he needs to see, but in the end it is up to Matt to discover the ultimate punch-line for himself.
Endorsements
"A rich and feisty tale, beautifully told, of people who live out of the box while they make the world a better place. This is spirited spiritual literature of a new order and is highly recommended."

"This latest thing to come out of Arjuna Ardagh is a keeper! The Last Laugh is an outstanding novel! It presents all of the wisdom of the ages in a story that you can't stop reading. In a fascinating and well-told story, Arjuna's characters gain transcendence, both transcendence of perspective and transcendence of being, by facing the full catastrophe of life in the mind vs.. life in the world.
If you want to become wise without having to study over it, read this book and pass it out to your equally dumb and lazy friends. I am buying a bunch of these novels to give to my friends to try to put the X back in Xmas! (If you read the story you will find out how descriptive and funny that saying is!) Arjuna!!...Bless You!!"
Brad Blanton, author of Radical Honesty, and “The Truthtellers: Stories of Success by Radically Honest People."
"I just finished reading The Last Laugh by Arjuna Ardagh. It is funny, it offers deep insight, and it is so well written that you will not want to put it down till you are done. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I highly recommend everyone I know to buy this book, and pass it on to your friends. I promise you will not regret it."

"At last . . . a spiritual novel with guts and depth."
Peter Russell - author - From Science to God, and The Global Brain.
"Both laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, The Last Laugh offers an entertaining and realistic glimpse of one man's awakening. An added bonus is Arjuna's deep understanding of consciousness-in-action, which gifts readers with rich reminders and insights apply to everyday life." --
Vickie Falcone, author of Buddha Never Raised Kids and Jesus Didn't Drive Carpool: Seven Principles for Parenting With Soul
"The writing is lyrical, sensual, rich in details; very literary. The characters are wonderfully drawn. Joey is a wonderful creation and Matt is superbly real
All that alone is a fine achievement, but what is really inspiring is how effective I found the story in conveying the journey of Awakening. I loved the way it conveyed the almost magical quality of first induction and breakthrough, the collapse into ego self-protection, the displacement of the energy onto the external anima and the understanding of bringing it home. I can feel the richness of Arjuna’s own experience in what he portrayed and it mirrors much of my own."
Richard Moss, The Black Butterfly and other books…
"The Last Laugh is a charming, postmodern fable about the awakenings and transformations we can go through when life takes us to the bottom and won't let us up--and we suddenly access resources both in others and in ourselves that we couldn't possibly have imagined in advance."
--Saniel Bonder, author, Waking Down: Beyond Hypermasculine Dharmas, Great Relief, The Tantra of Trust
"I highly recommend this entertaining novel of the spiritual path home for its humor, insight and sheer exuberance. It's a real page-turner!"
