GEORGE LEONARD has been called “the granddaddy of the consciousness movement,” by Newsweek. He has published many books and award-winning essays and formally served as a senior editor for Look magazine. Currently he is president emeritus of the Esalen Institute and co-founder of Integral Transformative Practice. Additionally Leonard holds a fifth-degree black belt in Aikido, is a talented jazz pianist, and has written a musical comedy, Clothes. Integral Transformative Practice (ITP) grew from a two-year experimental class in human transformation conducted by Leonard and Michael Murphy, beginning in 1992. Its goal is to integrate mind, body, heart, and soul, while facilitating positive change through practice.
